Arab Summit Set-Up
NPR's Eric Weiner reports on the upcoming Arab summit of heads of state in Cairo. This will be the first such summit in six years. They're getting together to forge a common policy toward Israel's new government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu. The alliances in the Arab world seem to be falling into two camps...hardliners, headed by Syrian President Hafez Assad, and moderates, headed by Jordan's King Hussein.

NPR's Chitra Ragavan reports that while investigators of the TWA crash are slowed by the lack of physical evidence, FBI agents are proceeding with other areas of inquiry. In case a bomb is named as the cause, they're putting together lists of terrorist groups who could be involved, as well as lists of potential suspects. And they're looking into other potential connections, such as whether July 17--the date of the crash--could have been a meaningful anniversary date for some group.

- Joe Neel reports from Vancouver Canada where an International AIDS Conference is taking place. Experts there are hopeful of a new treatment that reduces the level of HIV infection to undetectable levels.
Twa 800 News
At a briefing this afternoon in Long Island, National Transportation Safety Board vice chairman Robert Francis talked about what is now known about the data and voice recorders from TWA flight 800 that were retrieved from the ocean last night. We hear a portion of that briefing.
Wimbledon Preview
Robert talks with tennis commentator Bud Collins about the upcoming action this weekend in the Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon. Most of the world's top-seeded players have been eliminated from the tournament, so this weekend's finals will focus on some of the less-familiar players on the world tennis tour.

NPR'S Steve Inkseep reports from Long Island on the latest developments with the recovery effort and investigation into the crash of TWA flight 800. He also reports that two of the planes engines have been located.

- NPR'S Jon Burnett reports that a ceasefire in Latin America's oldest civil war is holding. The catholic church has started a campaign of collecting stories from people who were victims during the war. It is hoped that the effort will bring people together and heal emotional as well as, physical wounds.

reports that the Japanese computer chip industry has managed to maintain its competitive world position despite a four-year recession by continuing to invest in research and development.
