  • Christine Herman spent nine years studying chemistry before she left the bench to report on issues at the intersection of science and society. She started in radio in 2014 as a journalism graduate student at the University of Illinois and a broadcast intern at Radio Health Journal. Christine has been working at WILL since 2015.

  • Sarah Schneider comes to Pittsburgh by way of the prairie state of Illinois. She spent the summer of 2014 getting to know Pittsburgh as a reporting and photography intern with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She now collaborates on special projects including the Life of Learning Initiative as the station’s PULSE - Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience - fellow. Sarah graduated from Southern Illinois University’s Journalism School in May. During her four years there she worked as a reporter and editor at the school newspaper, the Daily Egyptian. She has previously interned at newspapers in eastern Idaho and central Illinois. You can often find Sarah behind a camera documenting people she meets and discovering new places. She also enjoys reading, crocheting and National Geographic documentaries.
  • Digital Media Manager Madalyn Painter joined the station in 2006, after working for three years as Online Communications Manager for KETC/Channel 9, St. Louis Public Television. Her professional awards include a 2005 APEX Award of Excellence for a Web site and three Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. She has lived in St. Louis since graduating in 2000 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Honors English. She enjoys gardening, visual art, dance, poetry, living in St. Louis City, and listening to public radio. Her favorite public radio shows are To the Best of Our Knowledge, RadioLab, Snap Judgment, Krista Tippett on Being, The Splendid Table, and This American Life.
  • Bruce Warren is assistant general manager for programming of WXPN in Philadelphia. Besides serving as executive producer of World Café, Warren also contributes to Paste magazine and writes for two blogs: Some Velvet Blog and WXPN's All About The Music Blog.

His news spots and feature stories can be heard during Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Jared is the recipient of five North Carolina Associated Press Awards for "Best Feature," "General News," "Best Health Report," "Best Weather Report," and "Best Consumer Report." When not at the station, he enjoys hiking, traveling and honing his culinary skills.
