Following the emotional reunion of Air Force Captain Scott O"Grady with his squadron the Pentagon is investigating reports that U.S. Intelligence knew of the existence of surface to air missiles in the area, the day before O'Grady's plane was shot down... NPR's Peter Kenyon reports.
Wu Arrested
NPR's John Greenberg reports that China today said it had formally arrested a Chinese-American human rights activist named Harry Wu. Wu has been charged with illegally obtaining state secrets and conducting criminal activities. If convicted, he could be executed. Wu has been held by the Chinese since June, when he tried to enter CHina from Kazakhstan.
Vietnam Recognition
The Clinton administration is expected to establish formal diplomatic relations with Vietnam sometime over the next few weeks. Michael discusses the issue with author Neal Sheehan who has written about Vietnam since 1962, when he covered the war. Sheehan recently visited Hanoi to report on how the Vietnamese are handling the dilemma of thsse Americans still 'Missing in Action'.

Holocaust Memorial
Recently a commission in Germany reached agreement on a Holocaust Memorial that would be built in Berlin. But now, many of Germany's conservatives, including Chancelor Helmut Kohl, say they're not happy with the design. And that's an opinion echoed by Germany's small Jewish community. Deidre Berger reports on the controversy.
