FBI Warns of Terrorist Threats Against U.S. Hospitals
The FBI says hospitals in four major U.S. cities might be the target of terrorists. Authorities say threats indicate that attacks could occur between December and April in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Houston and Chicago. Jason Lopez reports.

Workers Race to Control Oil Tanker Spill Near Spain
A damaged tanker breaks apart off the coast of Spain, spilling tons of oil into the ocean. Salvage crews work to contain the spill; officials fear an environmental disaster worse than the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill off Alaska. Senate Passes Homeland Security Bill
Yesterday, the Senate voted overwhelmingly in support of the billl to create the Homeland Security Department. The legislation allows for one of the largest ever reorganizations of the federal government, unifying a broad range of agencies while concentrating on intelligence gathering to fend off threats. Although the Democrats' amendment of special interest provisions was defeated, most party members ultimately supported the bill. NPR's Pam Fessler reports.
