Report Shows 288,000 New Jobs In June
June was a good month for job creation, according to the new Labor Department report. Employers added 288,000 positions to payrolls and the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent.

No Big Waves In The Labor Pool
Friday's news from the Labor Department offers a snapshot of an economy that's treading water. Employers added 175,000 jobs in May, and the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.6 percent. The numbers show "the ongoing slog in the labor market," one economist said.
Modest Wage Gains In February As Economy Adds Robust 313,000 Jobs
The largest increase in jobs in 1 1/2 years was accompanied by a 2.6 percent year-on-year increase in wages, a slowdown from January's pace. The unemployment rate held at 4.1 percent.
Plastic Bag Sales Fell By 90% At England's Large Retailers In Past 4 Years
Major retailers in England issued 7.6 billion single-use plastic bags before a fee was instituted in 2015. In the most recent 12-month period, they cut that to 549 million.
Key West To Ban Popular Sunscreen Ingredients To Protect Coral Reef
Sunscreens containing the chemicals linked to coral reef bleaching will be banned from sale in Key West, the city commission voted 6-1 Tuesday night. Industry officials say the link isn't proven.
Retail Spending Dips For 3rd Straight Month As Infections Surge
Restaurants and bars are reeling from spikes of coronavirus cases in their communities. Earlier holiday sales meant online shopping and electronics sales dipped in December. Retail sales fell 0.7%.
