As the Russian government slowly releases information about the special forces raid to liberate hundreds of hostages from a Moscow theater, we have learned that the initial reporting on the raid did not even remotely tell the whole story. NPR Senior News Analyst Daniel Schorr says that this practice of secrecy in dealing with catastrophe harkens back to the days of the Soviet Union. (3:00)

After Months Of Bans, Fully Vaccinated Travelers Will Be Allowed To Fly To The U.S.
The White House says fully vaccinated international travelers will have to present proof of vaccination and get tested before flying. The policy is slated to take effect in November.
Children And Teens Gained Weight At An Alarming Rate During The Pandemic, The CDC Says
A new CDC study found that the percentage of obese children and teens increased to 22%, compared to 19% before the pandemic. It also found that expected annual weight gain ranged from 5 to 15 pounds.
Italy Is Making COVID-19 Health Passes Mandatory For All Workers
The "green pass" will show whether a person has been vaccinated, recently recovered from COVID, or tested negative for the virus. Workers failing to present a pass will be suspended without pay.
