Prison Umpires
Noah speaks with Willy Daniels, a prisoner at the Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna, Illinois. Daniels is taking part in a program that gives prisoners a chance to be umpires for the local Little League. For more than twenty years, the center has allowed a few non-violent offenders to join the kids on the field six nights a week. Daniels says the job is a welcome break from prison and gives him a chance to be part of the community.
Najaf's Influence Rising Among Shiites
For centuries, the Iraqi city of Najaf was the center of Shiite religious learning. But consistent persecution under Saddam Hussein helped shift the center of Shiite power to Iran. Some think Najaf's growing influence since the fall of Saddam's regime could pose a threat to Iran's more radical clergy. NPR's Kate Seelye reports.

New Proof of Galactic Black Hole
A group of very patient astronomers reports new evidence that an immense black hole lives at the center of Earth's galaxy. The team has been watching a handful of stars at the center of the Milky Way for a decade -- waiting for a telltale sign that they're in orbit around a black hole. NPR's David Kestenbaum reports.

<I>Indivisible</I>
Host Bob Edwards talks with Tom Rankin, Director of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, and co-director of the new documentary Indivisible. The project explores how individuals come together to solve problems in their communities. It introduces a range of compelling people and subjects, including a midwifery practice in Stony Brook, New York; an organization in Texas which helps low income Mexican Americans buy their own homes; and Youthline, a San Francisco program that trains young people to offer peer advice and counseling on a toll-free phone service. Indivisible was produced by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University in partnership with the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona.
