Group exhibition ‘MAKE | BELIEVE’ explores the space between fantasy and reality

Promotional graphic for WCBU’s “Out and About” program, part of the NPR Network, presented by PNC. The episode is titled “Art and Imagination” and features guest Susanne Nestroy, shown in a black-and-white headshot on the right. On the left, the “Out and About” logo appears with a collage of colorful artwork labeled “Make/Believe.” At the bottom are icons for Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify, with the text “Listen Here.”

On this week’s episode of Out and About, Dr. Mae Gilliland of ArtsParnters of Central Illinois chats with Susanne Nestory, gallery consultant for Bradley University’s Department of Art and Design, about “MAKE | BELIEVE” — a dynamic group exhibition curated by Marcella Hackbardt.

Now on display through October 3 at both the Heuser Art Gallery and the Hartmann Center Gallery, the show features nine artists whose works explore the imaginative space between fantasy and reality. Through narrative, play, and transformation, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on creativity, identity, and the power of possibility.

Mae Gilliland Wright is the host of WCBU's Out & About.
