On this week's episode of Out and About, Director Chip Joyce joins WCBU's Jody Holtz to talk about Peoria Players Theatre's upcoming production of 'Gypsy: A Musical Fable'.

Regarded by many as the finest musical ever created, 'Gypsy' is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters' success - while secretly yearning for her own. Set all across America in the 1920s/30s amidst the death of vaudeville and the birth of burlesque, this landmark show explores the world of show business with brass, humor, heart, and sophistication.

Featuring a score that boasts one glorious hit after another, including: "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let Me Entertain You," "Some People," "You'll Never Get Away from Me," "If Momma Was Married," "All I Need Is the Girl," "You Gotta Get A Gimmick," "Small World," and "Together Wherever We Go."

Performances take place at Peoria Players Theatre on February 3, 4, and 9-11 at 7:30 pm, and February 5 and 12 at 2pm. For tickets and more information, click here.

Jody Holtz is WCBU's assistant program and development director, All Things Considered host, as well as the producer of WCBU’s arts and culture podcast Out and About.
