Our top story is about how one West Bluff resident's generosity through COVID-19 is now coming around full circle. You'll also hear a follow up with Peoria High School senior Imani Abdul. She was one of the members of the Woodruff Career and Technical Center's culinary team. The team had won the ProStart state competition last March, but were denied a chance to attend the national competition due to the pandemic. To fill the gap left by missing out on that competition's prize money, she recently applied for a scholarship at the culinary school she plans to attend next fall. WCBU correspondent Tory Dahlhoff followed up with Imani in hopes of a sweet update on her pastry pursuits.
