A Washington woman is dead after she apparently slipped down an embankment following a vehicle accident.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said a group of children discovered a woman's body near a creek off Redbud Drive last Friday.

Nanette Seacrist, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene. Hanley said her vehicle slid into a tree and was wedged in. She fell down the embankment after getting out.

Hanley said a preliminary autopsy concluded Seacrist died of cold exposure. No foul play is suspected.
