The Illinois State Police and Galesburg Police Department are investigating after a man was found dead in Cedar Fork.
William D. Avery, 57, was found dead in the creek near Bickerdyke Bridge just before 8:15 a.m. Sunday.
It's unclear how Avery died. ISP crime scene investigators were called to process the scene.
Tyler Smith, 23, of Rochelle, was found dead in Cedar Fork in 2018. Local uthorities ruled it an accidental drowning at the time, but the state police have since reopened the investigation.
