Three Killed in Ambulance-Involved Crash in Woodford County

Three people are dead after a vehicle and an ambulance collided early Saturday morning in rural Woodford County.

The Illinois State Police said 20-year-old Morgan Ryder of Gridley was driving down County Road 2400E near Benson just before 2 a.m. when she entered the path of an ambulance headed west on Illinois Route 116. The ambulance struck Ryder's on the driver's side, police said.

Ryder was pronounced dead. Two of her passengers, 19-year-old Jared Seggerman of Minonk man and 19-year-old Seth Unruh of Pattonsburg, also were pronounced dead. A 21-year-old Minonk man in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The 42-year-old driver of the ambulance and a 78-year-old ambulance passenger were also transported to an area hospital. A 25-year-old woman was also in the ambulance.

The roadway was closed for six hours.
