A 60-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a truck on Knoxville Avenue Thursday afternoon.
Peoria police said the man was following traffic signals properly when he was crossing Knoxville at Forrest Hill.
A northbound truck on Knoxville passed through the intersection on a red light and fatally struck the man, police said.
The man was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where he later died. His identity hasn't been disclosed.
The truck driver was cited for ignoring a traffic light. Knoxville was shut down at Forrest Hill for about 30 minutes.
The incident remains under investigation.
