One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 74 in Peoria County late Saturday night.
The Illinois State Police said a driver was headed east on I-74 near the I-474 interchange when their vehicle left the roadway, entered the right ditch and went airborne. The Peoria County Coroner later identified the driver as 25-year-old Marcelas Washington of Peoria.
The vehicle struck the underside of the I-474 overpass. The vehicle rolled, and Washington was ejected.
It's unclear why Washington's vehicle left the roadway. Toxicology is pending. There will be no autopsy.
