Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis is responding to buzz that his new executive job at the OSF HealthCare Foundation may signal he will decline to run for another term next year. Ardis responded to a reporter question on the topic Tuesday."We don't actually have to put our petitions in until October, November," Ardis said. "As of today, my thoughts are that I will be running for another term, but we have a long time until that happens." Ardis was first elected to the Peoria City Council in 1999. He was elected mayor in 2005. He's served more consecutive terms than any previous mayor in the city's history.
