This year's "Peoria Reads" book is "The Hate U Give," a story about a black teenage girl whose friend is shot and killed by a white police officer.
Tim Shelley sat down with Peoria Public Library Deputy Director Roberta Kolscielski and Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell to talk about "The Hate U Give," and what they hope the community gets out of conversations about the book.
