Tazewell Treasurer Gears Up For Run Against Dave Koehler

Tazewell County Treasurer Mary Burress is gearing up for a run against Democratic State Senator Dave Koehler.

Burress, a Republican, says she's currently circulating petitions to get on next November's ballot. She says she'll hold a formal campaign announcement at a later date. She was elected Tazewell County Treasurer in 2010.

Koehler has served as the senator for the 46th District since 2006. The district includes parts of Peoria, Tazewell, and Fulton counties.

The district voted for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016. Koehler ran unopposed that year.
