Sankoty Resort and Retreat

A nature resort and retreat is in development in Woodford County.

Developer Kim Blickenstaff and sportsman Dwayne Atherton are planning the Sankoty Resort right outside the village of Spring Bay.

The 200-acre property will include a manmade trout stream, RV park, hiking trails, and a camping area.

The resort will be built on a former gravel pit.

Across the river, Blickenstaff is reviving the old Al Fresco Amusement Park as a similar nature retreat. He’s also undertaking several commercial projects in Peoria Heights and the restoration of the Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Peoria.

The Sankoty Resort is slated to open this spring.
