Caterpillar's employee insurance plan and OSF HealthCare have reached a new agreement to continue coverage, just days before the old contract was set to expire.
“Caterpillar and OSF HealthCare have reached a new multi-year contract, effective October 1, 2019. We are pleased to continue our longstanding relationship and provide Caterpillar’s Peoria-area employees and retirees with continued and uninterrupted healthcare coverage," said the companies in a joint statement sent Friday evening.
The healthcare provider and manufacturing giant announced earlier this week they had not yet reached an agreement to keep the Caterpillar PPO enrolled in OSF's hospital and home care programs. The existing agreement was set to expire Monday.
Caterpillar's healthcare plan is administered by UnitedHealthcare.
