Caterpillar financial and accounting employees in Peoria may soon be looking for new work.
The company told employees Thursday that it will partner with Accenture for some of these processes. This means some of Caterpillar's financial and accounting work will transfer to Accenture.
"Together with Accenture, the team will continue to assess the work and resources needed. We are not estimating job impacts currently but do anticipate some impact," said Caterpillar spokeswoman Kate Kenny.
Peoria is Caterpillar's financial hub in the United States. The city served as the company's global headquarters for 90 years before moving to the Chicago suburbs in 2017.
Other impacted locations include Tianjin, Geneva, Bangalore, Belfast, and Panama.
