Autopsy: Mackinaw Man Died From Blunt Force Trauma to Head

A 25-year-old Mackinaw man believed to be murdered in California died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Lake County, Calif. Sheriff's deputies recovered the remains of Grant T. Whitaker on Monday in a rural area about 2 hours northwest of Sacramento. Whitaker's travel companion, 24-year-old Mavrick Fisher of Elko, Nevada, fled to Mexico following his death.

Mexican authorities returned Fisher to the U.S. He was booked Wednesday on a no bond warrant in connection with Whitaker's death.

The exact circumstances of Whitaker's death are still under investigation.
