A 63-year-old Peoria woman died of her injuries several days after she was struck in the back of the head.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Theresa Simmons of W. Loucks Ave. died just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
She was found just before 6 a.m. last Monday in her home with a serious head wound. An autopsy is planned for Monday.
Her son, Jeremy Simmons, 28, of 814 W. Nowland, was arrested Monday for attempted murder in connection with the incident.
