Illinois' former Mr. Basketball, Howard Nathan, has passed away at age 47.
Nathan died Sunday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria after he was hospitalized earlier this month.
Nathan was a standout player for the Manual High School Rams in 1991, ultimately winning the Peoria team a nail-biter with John Marshall Metropolitan High School. Nathan was named Mr. Basketball for his feat.
In 2006, Nathan was paralyzed when his vehicle was struck by a drunk driver.
Final arrangements haven't been announced.
