Peoria County Board Looks To Fill 3 Vacancies

PEORIA -- The Peoria County Board is now accepting applications for three open elected positions.

District 11 Board Member Doctor Greg Adamson, Peoria County Clerk Steve Sonnemaker, and Peoria County State’s Attorney Jerry Brady passed away last week.

Applicants for Adamson’s County Board seat must live within District 11’s boundaries and voted Republican in the primary election they voted in.

Applicants for the County Clerk and State’s Attorney’s jobs must have voted Democrat in the last primary they voted in and live within Peoria County.

An ad-hoc committee of one Democrat and one Republican will review the applications and make a recommendation to the County Board. New officeholders must be named within 60 days after they were vacated.

The three appointees will serve until November 2020.
