PEORIA -- A five-year-old boy died Friday after drowning in an apartment complex pool.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Peoria police officers were called to the Seven Oak Apartments, 4010 N. Brandywine, just after 5 p.m. Friday on a missing child report for Jeremiah T. Wilson.

A police officer found the child at the bottom of the apartment pool a short time later, Harwood said. The officer pulled Wilson from the water and performed CPR.

Wilson was unresponsive and not breathing when he arrived at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment. He was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.

Harwood said an autopsy shows Wilson died from drowning. No foul play is suspected.
