Governor J.B. Pritzker has tapped a Peoria County woman to lead the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Colleen Callahan’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Illinois Senate.
Callahan served seven years as the state director of USDA Rural Development during the Obama administration. Prior to that she spent 30 years working as a farm broadcaster for Peoria’s WMBD radio.
Callahan holds an agricultural communications degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
