A leadership change is in store for UnityPoint Health in central Illinois.
Chief Executive Officer Debbie Simon will retire this June. Dr. Keith Knepp - the current president of Peoria’s UnityPoint hospitals and clinics - will succeed her.
Simon began her career at Methodist Hospital in 1976 after earning a nursing degree at the University of Illinois. She oversaw the expansion of UnityPoint Health’s central Illinois services, and enrollment growth at Methodist College.

Dr. Keith Knepp is a former Eureka family physician. Knepp will step into the CEO role on April 1 and work in transition with Simon until her retirement.
