A veteran Peoria police officer is crossing the river to lead the East Peoria Police Department.
Steve Roegge has been named the city’s next police chief. He succeeds retiring chief Dick Ganschow.
Roegge has held the rank of lieutenant with the Peoria Police Department since 2008. His tenure in Peoria spans 31 years.
Roegge will assume the East Peoria Police Chief’s job on March 1. The East Peoria City Council will vote to formalize Roegge’s appointment Tuesday night.
