Woman Injured in Route 6 Crash in North Peoria

Peoria Public Radio/Kristin McHugh

A Pekin woman was injured in a Tuesday crash on Illinois Route 6.

The Illinois State Police reports 18-year-old Gabrielle E. Nannen was driving north when her vehicle left the roadway just before 1:15 p.m.

The 2003 Toyota passenger car drove across the grassy center median before appearing to become airborne, spanning the North Radnor Road underpass. The car came to a final rest precariously in the Route 6 center median just south of the Allen Road interchange.

Nannen was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The left lanes of Route 6 and a portion of North Radnor Road were closed until the car was removed.

Illinois State Police officials say Nannen was cited for operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device.
