The Caterpillar Inc. board of directors is changing its leadership.
Company CEO Jim Umpleby will now also serve as chairman of the board. The board voted for the immediate change Thursday.
Dave Calhoun was elected to the position of presiding director. He had been serving as Caterpillar’s non-executive board chairman.
Umpleby has served as the Deerfield-based company’s CEO since January 2017.
