The duo that reportedly confessed to the brutal murder of the Princeville couple last week will be back in court Thursday to hear the indictments returned by the grand jury.
20-year-old Matthew Roberts and 21-year-old Jose Ramirez are accused of killing Ramirez’s parents in their home and dumping them in the Spoon River. Both Ramirez and Roberts are now indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for the bludgeoning and stabbing of Susan Brill de Ramirez and Antonio Ramirez Barron, both 63.
They were found last week in Spoon River wrapped in a tent and a tarp. The location and way the couple was found as well as their wounds match the details Ramirez and Roberts reportedly included in their confessions. They’ll be arraigned together Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
