Officials have identified the Peoria man killed in a weekend shooting. 49-year-old Michael W. Jackson died Saturday evening at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Jackson died from a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. Jackson and another man were found Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Spring Street.
The Peoria Police Department says the unnamed second victim apparently suffered a graze wound. The coroner’s office reports a bullet was recovered during Jackson’s autopsy, but officials are not releasing the weapon caliber.
The homicide remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.
