richwoodsknights.org

Peoria District 150 is asking the community to hold the sophomore Richwoods High School football player injured Monday in thoughts and prayers.

The family is requesting privacy.

The unidentified youth sustained a significant head injury during the game. A Richwoods High School Football Facebook post Monday said the player underwent surgery for bleeding on the brain and was placed in a medically induced coma. The Facebook post asked for prayers, “in the most extreme way.”A statement from the school district is encouraging everyone in Peoria to hold the student close in thoughts.

Counselors are available at Richwoods High School and throughout the district.

The Richwoods High School Sophomore football team played a home game Monday evening against Peoria High.
