It’s the long-awaited moving day for the Peoria Election Commission. The agency started the move from its SW Adams Street office Wednesday night.
Executive Director Tom Bride says it will take about two days to move the agency to the new office on Brandywine. But election services will not be interrupted.
Bride says they were not able to transfer the existing office phone numbers to the new location. But the new number will be given when people call the old line.
Early voting will happen at the new office. It includes more space for that purpose and much more off-street parking.
Bride says they are also still trying to get a bench and enclosure at the existing CityLink bus stop next to the new Brandywine Drive office.
