Kristin McHugh

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is celebrating record enrollment. Officials say 244 students attend the medical college, the largest in the school’s history. The newest class-those expected to graduate in 2022-is a record 67. All students in the new class are from Illinois.

The white coat ceremony for new students is Friday, August 10. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in the Jump Similation Auditorium on North Berkley Avenue.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria recently created a new anatomy wing and virtual reality lab during a $3 million renovation. Additional classroom improvements and updates to an on-campus clinic are also in the works.
