Peoria International Airport has received a $1.5 million dollar grant to rehabilitate the terminal’s apron pavement.
The grant was announced Thursday by Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.
The Department of Transportation funding will aid the completion of nearly 31-thousand square yards of the General Wayne A. Downing Airport apron. Officials say the pavement is at the end of its useful life.
Representative Bustos says Peoria’s airport drives economic development and is an important regional transportation hub.
