Peoria County Authorities Seek Male Skull Identity

Peoria County Sheriff's Office

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help in identifying the man whose skull was found a year ago. The skull was recovered along the shore of the Illinois River near Kingston Mines in June 2017.

The Illinois State Police Crime lab matched the skull’s DNA to a torso found in Schuyler County in November 2016. Sheriff Brian Asbell says foul play is suspected. Two separate anthropologists examined the remains. A forensic artist then created the drawing of what the man may have looked like.

Anyone with information regarding the case or the man’s identity is encouraged to call the Peoria County Sheriff’s office. The Illinois State Police is jointly investigating this case.
