Tazewell County Circuit Clerk Offers Amnesty

Tazewell County Circuit Clerk's Office

The Tazewell County Circuit Clerk’s Office is offering a sort of amnesty to people with outstanding court fines and fees.

If a person’s court fines and fees fall 60 days into arrears, the account is turned over the collection and a 30 percent fee is attached. Collection fees will be waived for one week in March.

It’s the first time the Tazewell County Circuit Clerk’s office is offering amnesty since the introduction of the Compliance Office in 2014.

Amnesty Week is only beneficial for those who pay their account in full between March 12th and March 16th.

Payments can be made in person at the Tazewell County Clerk’s Office or online after calling the office (309)478-5699 to have their account taken out of collect so the payment can be applied.

There are about 40,000 Tazewell County accounts in collections.
