Peoria's Asst. City Manager to Lead Economic Development Council in 2018

Greater Peoria EDC

The Greater Peoria Economic Development Council will have a new executive director at the helm in the new year.

On Thurs. morning, the GPEDC announced in a news release its board of directors approved Chris Setti, currently Peoria's assistant city manager for the position.

Setti replaces Dennis Kief, who filled the interim seat in July, following the departure of former CEO Jennifer Daly. Daly resigned to accepted an economic development position in Eastern Iowa.

Council Chair Diana Hall says Setti’s 13-year public service career in Peoria and his reputation among leaders in economic development made him a prime candidate for the job.

Meantime, Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says the outgoing assistant city manager will be hard to replace at City Hall.

The Greater Peoria EDC says Setti will begin his new role Jan. 15.
