Parker Out as Dunlap Superintendent

Dunlap Superintendent Lisa Parker is leaving that post at the end of the year. The Dunlap School Board narrowly approved the separation agreement with the long-time district employee during a special meeting Tuesday night.

A number of teachers, alumni and residents spoke mostly in ardent support of Parker before the vote. Retired teacher CandiAmundson says Parker supported her schools and teachers:

The Special Dunlap School Board Meeting Tuesday drew a big crowd. That meeting saw the ouster largely favored Superintendent and long-time district employee, Lisa Parker.

“And she has over the last three years brought moral back to the school, our financial is under control, we have great test scores, in all areas our sports have improved.”

Amundson says, on the other hand, she questions the conduct of the school board that was seated about seven months ago. The board voted 4-3 for the separation agreement.

A joint statement from the board and Parker says each party wishes the other continued success. Parker is leaving the district after 24 years. She started in Dunlap as a guidance counselor.
