The City of Peoria is offering residents assistance with rodent control.

The city contracts with Peoria Pest Eliminators and offers the program at no cost to residents. The program includes some combination of evaluating the area of concern, identifying the cause and baiting existing burrows. The city may also bait alleyways and other existing areas.

The drop in temperatures causes rats and mice to seek interior shelter.

A statement from the city says those with a rat problem can call the Peoria Code Enforcement office.

More information about the rodent control program other neighborhood initiatives is available here.
