Peoria Police responded to a false alarm call at Peoria High School Wednesday. It was an early dismissal day.
Peoria Police Department Spokeswoman Amy Dotson says police responded about 2:30. She says the remaining faculty and students participating in extracurricular activities were evacuated from the building.
“After that, the officers remained in the building in search of any validity of a threat. Nothing was located.”
Dotson would not confirm the nature of the threat. But the students doing outdoor activities were not interrupted during the evacuation.
The building was declared safe by 3:50.
