The last registration hub for Peoria Public School students is tomorrow, and District officials are reminding parents to immunize their children before the first day of classes, Aug. 16th.
It’s part of the “First Day Compliance” policy that requires students to show proof of physical exams and immunizations on the first day of school, or they won’t be allowed to attend.
"I know sometimes it gets really, really tough to get a doctor’s appointment, to get into the doctor’s office and get that done," Superintendent Sharon Desmoulin Kherat said. "So, If they do make that appointment, we’ll make some allowances.”
A Heartland Clinic representative will be on-site at the school registration hubs to provide vaccines required for students entering kindergarten, sixth, ninth and 12th grades.
Registration hub locations and hours can be viewed here.
