The Tazewell County Coroner’s Office is still waiting for DNA test results on the human remains thought to be a missing Pekin boy.
Tazewell County Coroner Dr Jeff Baldi has said the Illinois State Police Forensic Lab in Morton moved the case to the top of the list in hopes of expediting an investigation.
The skeletal remains are consistent with records of 13-year-old Robert Bee who went missing in November.
But the coroner's office says the testing required to confirm a match is taking longer than anticipating. It could take a few more days, or possibly weeks.
The coroner's office is planning to issue a statement when the DNA results are complete.
