Farmer's Market Coupon Available to Seniors

The  Central Illinois Agency on Aging is offering coupons to use at farmer’s markets for those 60 and older who meet certain income guidelines. Those who turn 60 before October 31 and have an individual annual income of $22,300 or less qualify. The annual income guidelines for a couple is slightly more than $30,000 for a couple. Those who are disabled are not eligible for the program.

The coupons valued at three dollars each and are good for produce and other Farmer’s Market vendors who will accept them. Each person can have up to seven, but that is subject to change.

 

They are available Thursday and Friday from 11 to 3 at the Peoria Public Library main branch downtown. Those who cannot make those times have another opportunity Monday, July 10 from 9 to noon at the Central Illinois Agency on Aging office on Hamilton Blvd in Peoria. A photo ID that includes a birth date are required to pick up the coupons.
