Bustos is Disappointed by Withdrawal From Paris Climate Agreement

Tamie Yost

Congresswoman Cheri Bustos says she is disappointed with the President’s decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement. She says The President’s suggesting of a re-negotiation for the accord is a phony argument:

“This took years to get to this point. The other component that’s worth noting is it’s a non-binding accord. So President Trump could have picked and chosen what he wanted to out of this agreement as opposed to removing us entirely.”

Bustos says she is very disappointed in what she calls a "short-sighted" decision by President Trump. It leaves the country in the company of Nicaragua and Syria. Bustos says that’s something, given that 200 nations were part of the negotiated agreement.
