Flags are being flown at half-staff on Bradley’s campus for the next three days to honor the school’s winning-est basketball coach.
Charles “Ozzie” Orsborn died Sun. at his home in Naples, Florida. He was 99.
In an email Mon., University President Gary Roberts expressed his condolences to the family and the campus community. President Roberts was a student at Bradley when Orsborne was Athletic Director, a position he held from 1965 to 1978.
Chuck Orsborne is perhaps most remembered for his time as basketball coach, from 1956 to 1965, where he led teams to three National Invitation Tournament championships.
Orsborne was inducted into both the NIT and Missouri Valley Conference Halls of Fame, and was selected the “Bradley basketball Coach of the Century” during the program's centennial celebration in 2002.
