The “Best City Hall in America” is hosting an open house. Peoria City Hall won the title last month in the online bracket-style contest sponsored by Engaging Local Government Leaders.
Peoria won the title out of a field of 200 city halls. The trophy was placed on display today.
Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says since winning the title, city hall has had lots of visitors wanting to see the interior of the historic structure. He says the open house is an opportunity for people to see and learn about the building and see the city staff in action.
The open house is scheduled from 10 to 2 Thursday, April 20th. People can see the trophy and go on a tour, souvenirs will also be available.
