Tuesday Primary Results Are In, Looking Ahead

 

Yesterday’s primary election results in Peoria mean incumbent Mayor Jim Ardis faces political newcomer, Couri Thomas. Ardis received 52.5 percent of the vote and Thomas 33.3 percent.   

In the 4th District, incumbent Jim Montelongo will defend his seat against former Assistant Peoria Police Chief Mike Eddlemon.

The six at-large council candidates were reduced to four Tues. Finishing in this order: Zach Oyler, John Kelly, Sid Ruckriegel and Amr Elsamny.  They will move on to next month’s election, when voters will chose two.

The field of five democrats and two republicans lined-up for Peoria Township Supervisor, are now reduced to Democrat Frank Abdnour and Republican Daniel Sullivan.  

In Bartonville, voters will choose their next mayor from one of two village board trustees. Democrat Dale Oliver won yesterday’s primary and faces Republican Leon Ricca on April 4th.
